Why I do this work: I was raised in schools, joining my mother from the age of six weeks while she taught. Because of her teaching career and deep commitment to education, I was privileged to attend superb schools that would have been otherwise unavailable to me. In addition to providing me with excellent educational opportunities, she demonstrated an unwavering core value of public service that has guided my career and instilled in me the drive to ensure that all children, regardless of circumstance, have access to quality education.
