Background: Aurelia Twitty joined Bellwether Education Partners in 2016 and now serves as administrative manager. She manages Bellwether’s administrative team, is responsible for managing the operation of the D.C. office, and serves as a dedicated assistant to Mary K. Wells. Before joining Bellwether, Aurelia was the executive staff assistant at the National Patient Advocate Foundation, where for three years she worked to ensure effective and efficient workflow between the headquarters and internal/external clients, while providing administrative support to the entire staff. Aurelia has more than 25 years of administrative experience and has worked with a variety of organizations in roles including office manager, executive assistant, and assistant meeting planner. In addition to her extensive administrative experience, Aurelia is also a certified life coach with a passion for uplifting people through her work and volunteer efforts.
Why I do this work: I have spent more than 20 years volunteering with schools in the Washington, D.C., area, and I served as parent representative on the Board of Trustees for a local public charter school. I am an active foster parent and an advocate for equal and quality individualized education for all students regardless of race, gender, location, or socioeconomic status.
