His experience also includes government and nonprofit agencies, where he drove initiatives on redefining how states assess student performance, building stronger networks for young Black professionals, and connecting Black entrepreneurs to mentorship and consulting opportunities.
Emile holds master's degrees in education policy and adolescent education from Teachers College, Columbia University and Pace University. He also received a bachelor's degree from Cornell University.
Why I do this work: I grew up in the North Forest Independent School District in Houston, which was later closed by Texas for poor performance and mismanagement. I also had the opportunity to attend high school at Choate Rosemary Hall, a boarding prep school in Connecticut. I want all families to have the opportunity to send their child to a strong K-12 school without having to spend money on non-local educational options.
