Why I do this work: In college I had a particularly powerful class on education reform that brought to light many of the issues I care so deeply about today. Once I moved to Chicago, I taught Saturday school class to 5th and 6th grade students and mentored kids from one of the most underprivileged communities in Chicago. My relationships with them touched me in such a way that I knew I wanted to dedicate my work to improving outcomes for all students.
