Why I do this work: My passion for education stems from my personal experience in the Pittsburgh Public Schools, where I witnessed firsthand the challenges of educating students from all backgrounds and the roots of the achievement gap. The vast majority of the student body in my middle school lived in low-income neighborhoods, and I was appalled when I saw that many of these students were not given an opportunity to succeed. Drawing on that experience, I am committed to improving K-12 education for all students.
