Why I do this work: As a first-generation college student, I can with 100% confidence say that my educational experiences provided me with exposure to role models and paradigms that I would not have had exposure to within my own community. During my early college years, I joined AmeriCorps and was placed in a charter school in Harlem. This experience showed me the hurdles low-income students face in gaining access to a high-quality education and securing additional resources for long-term success. Through that role, I realized I wanted to work to drive positive impact in the education field. I am now able to merge my business experiences and insights from a broad set of industries with my passion for education and supporting students in an impactful manner — there's nothing better than that!
