Background: Temim Fruchter is an executive assistant at Bellwether Education Partners. She holds an MFA in creative writing from the University of Maryland and has taught creative writing and English composition at the college level. Temim also leads community writing workshops and is committed to creative writing pedagogies that center community, collaboration, and marginalized experiences and identities. She writes fiction and nonfiction, has been published in a number of literary journals, and is the recipient of several awards and fellowships for her work. She is deeply rooted in queer and social justice communities and believes that solidarity and radical imagination are requirements for making the world a more just place. She lives in Providence, Rhode Island.
Why I do this work: I believe in challenging the status quo. I work toward a world where education is a basic human right, and where a robust and high-quality education is available to anyone who wants it. Wealth or privilege should not be deciding factors when it comes to who has access to this resource.
